Whether it’s full-time travel on the road doing the ‘big lap’ or weekends and holidays here and there, caravanning with kids and as a family can have endless rewards, and make everlasting memories. We asked some of our Sunseeker families what they love about caravanning with kids, and their answers will leave you feeling inspired to pack up and do the same.

Polly, Sam, and their two gorgeous kids
Caravanning with kids, you watch them thrive, you watch them grow right in front of your eyes. I couldn’t recommend this more. They bring you back to what’s right in front of you, the present and all they need in return is to be loved. Being out in nature, with their feet in the mud and hands exploring all mother nature’s treasures is what truly opens their hearts and minds.
Forever meeting like-minded families and travellers on the road you see their confidence grow day by day and your family bonds strengthen. So get out there and live your best lives and explore this beautiful land we live on.

Holidays with kids is more luggage, endless snacks, wake-ups before 6am, less sitting down and/or relaxing, less quiet time (if any), foregoing what you want to do for what the kids want to do, non stop talking & asking questions, tears & negotiations (& sometimes bribery), and rarely getting a family photo where everyone is looking.
However, despite the ‘fun’ of all that, holidays with kids is truly one of the greatest joys. Seeing & experiencing things through their eyes is beyond precious. Their little minds explode with new adventures & knowledge (from the endless questions) of the place you’re in. Their joy & excitement seeing new things. Their curious & ever-expanding nature to explore. Their priceless facials & reactions of having no routine and nowhere to be.
Caravanning with kids is being present, riding the waves of chaos, enjoying the moments & savouring all that quality time that ‘normal’ life just doesn’t always allow

We would say that we love the fact that we are always going somewhere new and exciting! Keeps the moods happy and high. Every day is an adventure. We love that we are altogether in this safe and comfortable space. We love absolutely our van and that it is so easy to move from one place to the next. Caravanning sure makes it easy. We’ve made the most mind-blowing memories over the last 10 months in our van.

Kac, Dan & Henry (6)
For us, vanlife provides us with the perfect mix of adventure, fun & learning. A chance to truly spend quality time as a family & watch Henry grow.
It has also given us the ability to take Henry to the mountains, ocean and sky and teach/watch him thrive learning new skills. Adventures such as hiking in Tasmania on the Overland and 3 Capes Tracks, mountain biking in Derby Tasmania, snorkelling both the Great Barrier Reef & Ningaloo Coast as well as taking in the Bungle Bungles and Mitchell Falls from a helicopter were activities we did not dream of as 6 year olds but Vanlife makes it possible.
The next big adventure for us as a family will be teaching Henry to snowboard. A love of nature & adventure is what this family is all about and our Van enables us to enjoy this truly remarkable lifestyle. As everyone says… Making memories Baby!!!
